Both Julie and Aja are students of Anthrophosophy, the underlying and inspiring wellspring of spiritual knowledge that embodies the deep wisdom of Waldorf education.

Meet the Teachers~

Miss Julie

Julie Courtney grew up in the Missouri Ozarks and graduated from Indiana University (BA Enlgish Literature, 1990). She also studied music for three years at Oregon State University (1999-2002).

Since graduating from Waldorf Teacher Training Eugene, Oregon in 1998, Julie has been working in Waldorf education in one capacity or another with people of all ages, babies to adults. She had an in-home Waldorf-inspired preschool in Corvallis, and taught singing and recorder and did extensive substitute teaching in early childhood and grades at Corvallis Waldorf School (CWS). She taught the Little Acorns Parent~Child Class, both at CWS (2018-2020) and at her home (2020-2023), along with Garden Song.

Julie’s family includes her bug-loving husband, Farmer Woody, and her two grown sons, Julian and Galen. She loves singing, composing music, gardening, reading, hiking, bicycling, coffee and chocolate. She is also the artistic director of Hazelwood Ensemble.
